Aerin Nabs FDA Clearance for Chronic Rhinitis Treatment

The FDA granted Aerin Medical 510(k) clearance for its RhinAer Stylus, a nonsurgical device indicated for treating chronic rhinitis.

The RhinAer procedure is used with a local anesthetic to treat chronic nasal conditions. It requires no incisions and directly disrupts signals that cause symptoms, the company said.

During its clinical trial, the device showed significant improvements for runny nose and post-nasal drip, the most bothersome chronic rhinitis symptoms.
