Quest Launches COVID-19 Test Service

Quest Diagnostics has launched a COVID-19 test service for patients meeting the CDC's clinical criteria for coronavirus testing. The molecular based assay detects viral RNA in respiratory specimens.

The service is going ahead pending an emergency use authorization (EUA) from the FDA.

The new service will test respiratory specimens collected in hospitals and physician offices. The company’s patient service centers and phlebotomy sites will not collect respiratory specimens for suspected COVID-19 cases.
