MedTech Europe Issues Update on COVID-19

MedTech Europe is urging devicemakers to develop and distribute needed in vitro diagnostics tests that rapidly diagnose the coronavirus to curtail the spread of the disease.

The association said the medical device industry is committed to “responding to the needs of citizens across the world, in particular those of healthcare workers and governments in tackling the ongoing outbreak of the Coronavirus, COVID-19.”

MedTech Europe is urging industry to continue to develop and make available needed protective equipment such as isolation gowns, masks, gloves, protective footwear, headcovers and goggles to ensure that healthcare workers can carry out their work.
