Extremity Medical’s Wrist Replacement Implant Cleared

Extremity Medical has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its KinematX total wrist replacement implant.

The midcarpal implant was designed to avoid the risks associated with radial implants, including limited range of motion, partial dislocation, reversed bone formation and distal component failure, the company said.

The implant’s design was based on new research into the precise motions of the eight bones in the wrist.
