Qiagen’s COVID-19 Test Gets Emergency Use Authorization

The FDA has granted Qiagen’s QIAstat-Dx coronavirus test kit an emergency use authorization.

The German devicemaker began shipping the test kits to the U.S. immediately after the FDA adopted a new policy to speed up COVID-19 testing.

The QIAstat-Dx test can tell the difference between the novel coronavirus and 20 other serious respiratory infections. It produces results in about an hour.
