Novavax to Start Potential COVID-19 Vaccine Trial in May

Novavax announced yesterday that it has identified a coronavirus vaccine candidate and expects to launch a first-in-human trial in mid-May.

The phase 1 study of NVX-CoV2373 in more than 130 healthy adults will assess immunogenicity and safety as well as the best dosage amount and number of vaccinations.

The vaccine will include the company’s proprietary Matrix-M adjuvant to enhance immune responses and to stimulate high levels of neutralizing antibodies.
