Abbott Earns CE Mark for Tricuspid Valve-Repair Device

Abbott has earned a CE Mark for its TriClip transcatheter valve-repair system for treating tricuspid regurgitation.

The nonsurgical, minimally invasive device is the first to be approved for treating leaky tricuspid valves, the company said.

The device can repair the tricuspid valve without the need for open-heart surgery. It is delivered through a patient’s femoral vein and clips a portion of the valve’s leaflets to reduce blood backflow.
