UK Unveils New Measures to Respond to COVID-19

The UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) rolled out temporary measures to help speed clinical trials and provide wider access to needed medical devices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The agency said it will expedite amendments to clinical trials and any new submissions for trials related to COVID-19.

Unless there is an impact on patient safety, “you do not need to notify MHRA of COVID-19-related [protocol] deviations,” the agency said.
