Former Theranos CEO’s Trial Pushed Back to October

April 17, 2020

The criminal trial of Elizabeth Holmes, CEO and founder of the defunct blood test company Theranos, has been pushed back until October due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Holmes and Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani, Theranos’ chief operating officer, are accused of making false claims about the capabilities of the company’s blood-testing technology.

Holmes faces up to 20 years in prison for fraud. Originally scheduled for August, her trial will now begin on Oct. 27.
