TGA Approves Osteopore’s 3D-Printed Scaffolds for Bone Regeneration
April 21, 2020
Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has approved Osteopore’s bioresorbable, 3D-printed scaffolds for regenerating facial bones.
The Osteomesh, Osteoplug and Osteoplug-C devices are used as bone-void fillers. The Osteomesh is designed for orbital floor fractures, while the Osteoplug is for neurosurgical burr holes and other cranial defects. The Osteoplug-C is for use during cerebral-shunt operations.
The 3-D printed scaffolds dissolve over time to leave only healthy bone tissue.
