Siemens Healthineers Develops COVID-19 Antibody Test

Siemens Healthineers plans to launch a high-volume, laboratory-based COVID-19 antibody blood diagnostic that will deliver results in 14 minutes.

The test is being designed for use on the Atellica Solution, an analyzer capable of running up to 440 tests in an hour. It will also run on the ADVIA Centaur XP and XPT analyzers.

The antibody test will identify individuals who have developed an immune response to the virus, even if they were asymptomatic or never diagnosed with the disease, Siemens noted.
