World Leaders Commit to WHO’s Hunt for COVID-19 Drugs

Many world leaders have signed on to the World Health Organization’s new initiative for COVID-19 research and development.

The Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator aims to accelerate the development, production and distribution of vaccines, drugs and diagnostics for the disease.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that fundraising for the effort will begin May 4, with a goal of raising more than $8 billion.
