Erba Mannheim Launches COVID-19 Antibody Assays

Erba Mannheim has launched a CE marked COVID-19 antibody detection kit, the ErbaLisa COVID-19.

The assay can be used either manually or on automated ELISA analyzers, including the company’s ELAN 30 system. The kits will be manufactured at the group’s El Cajon, Calif., immunoassay center.

The presence of antibodies in the blood may be one measure used to allow people with COVID-19 go back to work, even though the World Health Organization has advised that patients with antibodies to the virus may not be protected from reinfection.
