Hologic Gets Emergency Use Authorization for Second COVID-19 Test

Hologic has received an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the FDA for its second coronavirus assay.

The Panther Fusion SARS-CoV-2 test is designed for use with the company’s Panther system and produces results within three hours. More than 1,000 Panther units have been installed in U.S. clinical laboratories, the company said.

Hologic said it will manufacture an average of 1 million tests per week.
