TDi Receives FDA Clearance for Spinal-Ultrasound Platform

Tissue Differentiation Intelligence (TDi) has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its SonoVision ultrasound system designed for soft-tissue imaging of the spine.

The system, which is designed for use in spinal surgery, applies multiple image-processing algorithms to ultrasound images to visually differentiate between nerve, muscle, bone and vessels in the spine in real-time.

The imaging algorithms help overcome “the impracticalities of conventional ultrasound” for spinal surgery, the company said.
