Fujifilm Begins Research on AI Tech for COVID-19 Pneumonia

Fujifilm is studying an artificial intelligence (AI)-based imaging technology to help in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with pneumonia caused by COVID-19.

The AI-based system will quantify lesions of interstitial pneumonia to help physicians assess how well treatments are working.

The company is testing the technology in medical institutions in Japan, starting with the Kanagawa Cardiovascular and Respiratory Center in Yokohama.
