Nexxt Spine’s ALIF and Lateral Lumbar Systems Cleared

June 1, 2020

The FDA has granted Nexxt Spine 510(k) clearance for its anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) and lateral spinal systems.

ALIF is a type of spinal surgery done from the front of the body to remove pieces of disc or bone from between two adjacent lumbar vertebrae. Lateral lumbar interbody fusion surgery is conducted through an incision in the waist.

The two spinal implants have micro-roughened surfaces and lattices to promote bone growth. Nexxt Spine said it plans to launch the ALIF system in August and the lateral system in September.
