Australia Biotech CSL Selected to Manufacture University of Queensland’s COVID-19 Vaccine

Australian biotech CSL has partnered with the University of Queensland (UQ) and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) to manufacture and distribute the university’s COVID-19 vaccine candidate.

CEPI and CSL will fund industrial-scale manufacturing to allow the production of potentially millions of doses a year, should the product be approved. The initial phase of production will take place at CSL’s manufacturing facilities in Melbourne, Australia.

The company anticipates being able to produce 100 million doses toward the end of 2021.
