Vasoptic Medical Receives 510(k) Clearance for Retinal Imager

Vasoptic Medical’s XyCAM retinal imager has obtained 510(k) clearance from the FDA for assessing the vascular status of the retina.

The noninvasive imager measures blood flow to help ophthalmologists and optometrists detect disease and make treatment decisions.

The imager will allow physicians to “make decisions about care that could dramatically impact the vision and quality of life for millions of Americans,” the company said.
