Norway Freezes COVID-19 Tracking App over Privacy Concerns

Norway has stopped using a mobile phone app designed to track coronavirus infections in order to protect patient data.

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health said that it will wipe all data collected by its Infection Stop app following concerns raised by the country’s data protection authority.

But the public health authority warned that, without the app, “we will be less equipped to prevent new outbreaks that may occur locally or nationally.”
