Preceptis’ Ear Tube System Receives FDA Clearance

Preceptis Medical has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its Hummingbird tympanostomy tube system for in-office use in children.

The system allows surgeons to perform ear tube placement procedures in young children using only topical anesthesia, eliminating the need for an operating room surgery.

According to trial results, the median procedure time for ear tube placements was five minutes.
