AstraZeneca in Talks with Japanese Manufacturer for COVID-19 Vaccine Supply

Daiichi Sankyo said it is in discussions with AstraZeneca to create a supply of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate AZD1222 for use in Japan.

Under the planned partnership, Daiichi Sankyo would receive an undiluted solution of the vaccine from AstraZeneca for formulation, vial filling and packaging at its facilities for use in Japan.  

In separate negotiations, the UK-based company is also in talks with the Japanese government about securing a supply of the vaccine.
