Kroger’s COVID-19 Test Home Collection Kit Cleared for Emergency Use

The FDA has issued an Emergency Use Authorization to the Kroger Co. for a COVID-19 test home collection kit.

The Kroger Health COVID-19 Test Home Collection Kit is for use by individuals to self-collect nasal swab specimens at home under video supervision by a healthcare provider. The specimens must be sent to laboratories designated to run in vitro diagnostic molecular tests for the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The agency said that all promotional material for the home collection kit must make clear that it has not been FDA cleared or approved and is for emergency use during the pandemic.
