FDA to Resume Domestic Inspections Using New Assessment System

July 13, 2020

The FDA said it will resume domestic inspections from July 20 using a new rating system developed in response to the pandemic.

The COVID-19 Advisory Rating system will consider the number of COVID-19 cases in local areas based on state and national data and the agency will share the data with state partners that conduct facility inspections on its behalf.

The inspections will be pre-announced to manufacturers “for the foreseeable future,” the agency said.
