Aspen Pharma Agrees to Lower Price of Six Cancer Drugs in Europe

Aspen Pharma has agreed to reduce the price of six cancer drugs in Europe by 73 percent on average, the European Commission said.

The settlement ends an investigation in which the commission found the company had increased prices for the drugs used for treatment of leukemia and other blood cancers way in excess of what was reasonable based on the production costs.

The price reductions will take effect immediately and will be the maximum that the company can charge for the next ten years, the commission said.
