Pfizer and BioNTech Get Brazil’s Approval for COVID-19 Vaccine Trial

Pfizer and BioNTech are slated to begin a late-stage trial of their COVID-19 vaccine candidate in Brazil next month.

Results from early stage trials of the vaccine, BNT162b1, in Germany and the U.S. showed that it is safe and generates an immune response, the companies said.

Two other companies, Sinovac and AstraZeneca, are currently testing COVID-19 vaccine candidates in the country.
