UK Invests $127 Million into COVID-19 Vaccine Manufacturing

The UK will invest $127 million in a manufacturing facility to scale up production of COVID-19 vaccines and gene therapies.

The Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult Manufacturing Innovation Center in Stevenage, a town 30 miles from London, will have the capacity to produce millions of vaccine doses each month. The center is slated to open in December 2021.

While that facility is under construction, the UK will invest $48 million in a rapid deployment facility that is expected to open this summer.
