Taro Pharmaceuticals Settles DOJ Price-Fixing Charges

Israel-based Taro Pharmaceuticals has agreed to pay $205.7 million to settle allegations by the Department of Justice (DOJ) that the company conspired to fix prices on various generic drugs.

The company is the fifth company to admit to roles in antitrust conspiracies as part of an ongoing DOJ investigation into generic drug prices.

Taro said it has also reached a tentative agreement with the DOJ to pay $213.3 million to resolve separate claims related to federal healthcare programs.
