Sanofi and GSK to Supply UK 60 Million Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine
July 30, 2020
Sanofi and GSK have reached an agreement with the UK government to supply 60 million doses of their COVID-19 vaccine. The financial details were not disclosed, and the contract must still be finalized.
The drugmakers teamed up in April to develop a vaccine using Sanofi’s recombinant protein-based vaccine technology and a GSK adjuvant.
Sanofi plans to begin a phase 1/2 trial of the vaccine in September, followed by a phase 3 study by the end of the year.
