Medtronic Micro Neurostimulator Cleared

Medtronic has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its InterStim Micro, a neurostimulator for sacral neuromodulation (SNM) therapy.

The device is used for the treatment of several conditions, including urinary retention, bowel dysfunction and chronic pain.

The rechargeable device reduces the need for battery replacement surgeries. It can be recharged in less than an hour and has a lifespan of 15 years.
