Abbott Begins Trial of TactiFlex Ablation Catheter

Abbott Laboratories has enrolled the first patients for a study of its TactiFlex sensor-enabled ablation catheter for the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.

The multicenter trial of the ablation device will enroll 355 patients whose atrial fibrillation symptoms can’t be controlled with medication.

The catheter features sensors that help physicians navigate with improved accuracy during heart surgeries.
