Quidel Receives Canadian Authorization for COVID-19 Test

Health Canada has authorized Quidel’s Lyra Direct SARS-CoV-2 assay, following the test’s emergency clearance in the U.S. and CE marking in Europe.

The PCR test detects RNA from the coronavirus and delivers results  within 70 minutes.

The test can be processed using seven thermocyclers, including from Applied Biosystems, Bio-Rad, Qiagen, Roche and Thermo Fisher.
