Thrombolex Enrolls First Patient in Endovascular Catheter Trial

Thrombolex has begun a late-stage trial of its Bashir endovascular catheter in patients with acute submassive pulmonary embolism.

The trial is being conducted under an investigational device exemption and is designed to support an expanded FDA approval for treatment of the condition.

According to the company, the first patient treated with the device saw positive results with no complications.
