J&J to Start Phase 2 COVID-19 Vaccine Trial in Spain, Germany and the Netherlands

Johnson & Johnson (J&J) says it will begin a phase 2 trial of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate in Spain, Germany and the Netherlands this week.

The trial aims to enroll 550 volunteers between the three countries, including healthy adults aged 18 to 55 and over the age of 65. The study will evaluate different doses and administration methods.

J&J previously announced that it expects to begin a phase 3 trial of its vaccine candidate, Ad26.COV2.S, in 60,000 participants in early September.
