AstraZeneca Begins Testing COVID-19 Vaccine in Japan

AstraZeneca has begun a phase 1/2 trial of its promising COVID-19 vaccine candidate AZD1222 in Japan.

The trial will evaluate the safety and efficacy of the vaccine in approximately 250 subjects aged 18 and over and will be conducted at multiple sites across the country.

AstraZeneca has already begun a large-scale phase 3 U.S. trial and expects to enroll more than 30,000 participants.
