Veravas’ Biotin Interference Tests Get CE Mark Certification

Veravas has received a CE mark for its biotin testing suite, a trio of products used for biotin (vitamin B7) detection and removal in serum and plasma samples.

The CE mark clears the company’s VeraTest Biotin, VeraPrep Biotin and VeraMag products. The VeraTest quickly detects excessive biotin levels, while VeraPrep removes biotin from samples and VeraMag uses magnetic-particle separation to separate different biomolecules for analyses.

Undetected high levels of biotin in patient samples may cause false positive or negative results in certain clinical tests that are susceptible to biotin interference, the company noted.
