Pentax Nabs FDA Clearance for High-Definition Bronchoscopes

Pentax Medical has received 510(k) marketing clearance from the FDA for its EB-J10 Series bronchoscopes that provide high-definition images of the airways in the lungs.

The bronchoscopes provide sharp initial imaging, but they also offer image enhancement after processing to improve the visibility of vascular structures and suspicious tissue.

The EB-J10 units offer large instrument channels and have been re-designed for easier device insertion and strong suction capability, the company said.
