Becton Dickinson’s Rapid Point-of-Care COVID-19 Test Earns CE Mark

Becton Dickinson has secured a CE mark certification for its rapid point-of-care SARS-CoV-2 antigen test.

The test delivers results in 15 minutes using the company’s handheld BD Veritor Plus System, which is already cleared to test for influenza A and B, group A strep and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

The COVID-19 test has been available in the U.S. through an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) since July. It is expected to be launched in the EU at the end of October.
