Surgical Innovation Associates’ Earns CE Mark for Absorbable Mesh

Surgical Innovation Associates’ DuraSorb, a bioabsorbable mesh, has earned a CE mark certification for several reconstructive and aesthetic uses, including the prevention of abdominal hernias, and breast tissue and prosthetic breast support.

The mesh provides mechanical support and scaffolding in the early months of wound healing and scar formation, and serves as an alternative to biologic meshes and permanent synthetic meshes.

The mesh is gradually absorbed into the body and is gone from the patient within a year.
