EU Discusses COVID-19 Vaccines Supply Deal with More Drugmakers

The EU is negotiating five more advanced purchase agreements with COVID-19 vaccine developers and is in early talks with four more companies, the European Commission’s President Ursula von der Leyen said.

The commission has previously secured vaccine supply deals with AstraZeneca and with partners Sanofi/GlaxoSmithKline.

Von der Leyen did not disclose all the companies currently in negotiations, but the commission is known to be in advanced discussions with Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, CureVac, partners Pfizer/BioNTech and Novavax.
