Boston Scientific Gets CE Mark for Spinal Cord Stimulators

Boston Scientific has been granted CE mark certification for its WaveWriter Alpha spinal-cord stimulator system.

The system consists of four magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) pulse generators that deliver stimulation for the management of pain. They are controlled using wireless programming, so the programmer can maintain a typical physical distance of 10 feet from the patient.

The stimulators are indicated for the management of chronic intractable pain, as well as for peripheral nerve stimulation of the trunk for pain management.
