First Patients Treated in Galaxy Medical’s Trial of Pulsed Electrical-Field Cardiac Ablation System

October 9, 2020

Galaxy Medical announced that it has treated the first patients in its clinical trial of the Centauri System, a device that uses pulsed electrical fields to treat cardiac arrhythmias.

The system is designed to integrate with the clinical workflow already used in most cardiac ablation procedures. It can easily integrate with existing cardiac mapping and navigation systems and has automated voltage controls to prevent overdosing or underdosing, Galaxy said.

The multicenter trial is being conducted to assess the system’s safety and efficacy in order to support a CE mark certification. The system has not been approved by any regulator.
