CurvaFix Enrolls and Treats First U.S. Patient in Rodscrew Study

October 12, 2020

CurvaFix announced that it has treated its first U.S. patient in a clinical study of its intramedullary rodscrew for treatment of pelvic and hip fractures.

The patient was in a car accident that resulted in a high-impact pelvic fracture. In the surgical procedure, the rodscrew was implanted in the center of the bone through a small skin incision where it adapts to the patient’s bone curvature.

The company said it is currently expanding the study to more U.S. clinical sites. The device received 510(k) marketing clearance from the FDA last year.
