Steris Expands into Disposable Healthcare Products with Purchase of Key Surgical

Steris will acquire Key Surgical, a producer of disposable hospital and surgical products, for $850 million, the company has announced.

Key Surgical, an Eden Prairie, Minn., firm, manufactures sterile processing, operating room and endoscopy products.

The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of the year pending the normal closing conditions and regulatory approval.

Steris CEO Walt Rosebrough said the Minnesota firm has “demonstrated an ability to grow at rates above industry levels.”
