Thermo Fisher Unveils Two New COVID-19 Tests

Thermo Fisher has introduced two new SARS-CoV-2 antibody tests, one of which has received the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization (EUA).

The company’s OmniPATH COVID-19 Total Antibody ELISA test, which it developed with the Mayo Clinic and WuXi Diagnostics, has been granted an EUA for detecting SARS-CoV-2 antibodies.

The other test, the EliA SARS-CoV-2-Sp1 IgG test, is being reviewed by the agency for an EUA, Thermo Fisher said. Both tests are available in Europe, having received CE mark certification, and are designed for use with automated laboratory instruments.
