Anika’s Joint-Replacement System Gets FDA Clearance

Anika has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its WristMotion total arthroplasty system for replacing painful wrist joints.

The system is now cleared for replacement of painful wrist joints caused by rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis or post-traumatic arthritis.

The modular joint restoration system replaces both the radial and carpal portions of the joint, preserving the wrist’s ability to perform the complex action known as the “dart thrower’s” motion.
