Embody’s Tendon and Ligament Implant Cleared by FDA

October 26, 2020

The FDA has granted 510(k) marketing clearance for Embody’s Tapestry biointegrative implant for tendon and ligament repair.

The bioengineered, collagen-based implant provides a soft-tissue regenerative scaffold that is absorbed into the body and helps to repair injured tendons and ligaments.

The implant combines the benefits of collagen with the structural integrity required for “demanding tendon and ligament applications from foot and ankle to complex shoulder repair procedures,” said Kevin Bonner, director of the Research Foundation at the Jordan-Young Institute in Virginia Beach, Va., and a member of Embody’s advisory board.
