Teleflex to Buy Up Hemostatic Devicemaker Z-Medica for $500 Million
October 30, 2020
Pennsylvania devicemaker Teleflex has reached an agreement to acquire Z-Medica, a leading producer of hemostatic products, for $500 million.
Under the deal, Connecticut-based Z-Medica is eligible for an additional $25 million if certain commercial milestones are met. The agreement is expected to be finalized by the end of this year.
Z-Medica’s hemostatic devices use its proprietary QuikClot Control+ material, a combination of gauze and kaolin — a type of clay — to enhance a patient’s natural blood-clotting ability.
