Ortho Nabs CE Mark for Transfusion Lab Testing Platform

Ortho Clinical Diagnostics has received CE mark certification for its Optix Reader device, an immunohematology analyzer designed for use by transfusion laboratories with smaller volume capabilities.

When used with the company’s Ortho workstation, Optix Reader “provides a complete semi-automated testing platform for transfusion labs with low- to mid-volume throughput,” the company said, adding that it can also serve as a backup option for larger volume labs and healthcare networks.

The Optix Reader’s camera provides high resolution, color, grayscale, front and back images of tests without requiring any intervention by the operator.
