Biotricity to File 510(k) Submission for Wearable Heart Monitor

December 3, 2020

Redwood City, Calif.-based Biotricity said that it plans to file for 510(k) marketing clearance this month for Biotres, a wearable patch for electrocardiogram (ECG) and arrhythmia monitoring.

The device, which has a rechargeable battery that allows it to be continuously worn for 48 hours, as well as wireless capabilities is designed for both patients at risk for certain heart conditions and those already diagnosed.

Biotricity is focused on developing remote solutions for management of chronic conditions. The company last month unveiled Biocare Telemed, a “virtual clinic” that provides patients access to medical care and remote cardiac monitoring.
